On March 10th, 2022 the Atlanta Journal-Constitution named CallRail a Top Workplace in Atlanta for the sixth year in a row!
CallRail was one of 4,583 companies nominated or asked to participate by Atlanta metro employees, ranking 17th out of the 66 “midsize” companies recognized.
The Top Workplace list is based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey, administered by Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey measures 15 culture drivers critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, execution, and connection, to name a few.
It’s an honor that CallRail was recognized as a culture-leading Top Workplace in Atlanta, given the company’s continued investment into diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives that kicked into high gear in 2020. New in 2022, employees saw developments in brand values, the flexible work environment, and the launch of Good Air – the company-wide training initiative to foster psychological safety in the workplace.
CallRail culture
Core to CallRail’s brand and culture are its culture statements:
- Respect everyone
- Deliver incredible products
- Mind the business
- Work with intensity
- Turn it off
Employees are encouraged to honor the CallRail culture statements – including “Turn it off” – which refers to unplugging when the day’s work is done. But these aren’t your typical culture statements that exist only in the company handbook: employees routinely acknowledge coworkers that exhibit these values in superior everyday client-work and team collaboration with virtual High Fives, garnering company-wide recognition.
But CallRail culture went much further than public high fives over the past year.
“In 2021, from a cultural perspective, we focused on building a foundation of psychological safety. We made several great strides in 2020 but wanted to focus inward in 2021 and make sure our employees felt comfortable bringing their whole selves to work,” said VP of Talent & Culture, Whitney Hoffman-Bennett.
2021 culture callouts
Over the past year, CallRail is proud to have:
- Increased its employee base of previously underrepresented employees by 11% from 2020 to 2021 as a result of intentional pipelining
- Introduced safe and thought-provoking conversations around career growth, thanks to a partnership with Inclusivv, and an employee panel event
- Launched an internal engagement survey and the first-ever Ringo employee awards
- Become a corporate sponsor of Kennesaw State University and offer discounted classes to employees
- Revamped the employee onboarding process to match the hybrid world we are now working in – and committed to a fully hybrid return to office for employees, where no one is required to be in the office more than 2 days a week
Flexible work environment
The Pandemic confirmed what we all already knew: employees need a more flexible work environment. CallRail has maintained an employee-centric culture since its founding in 2011, but since 2020, the executive leadership team has doubled down on flexibility.
“As long as you’re communicating with your team, we want [employees] to do something that fills their cup, whether that’s taking time in the middle of the day to meet a friend for lunch, or just to get a coffee. That helps them come back and be a better employee,” Hoffman-Bennett said to the Employee Benefits Network in January 2022.
Given CallRail added over 100 new employees to its staff in 2021 and has ambitious plans for growth in the coming year, individuals interested in working with us should check out our open roles.
Good Air
In 2021, we also launched Good Air – the company-wide training initiative to foster psychological safety at work through genuine human connection. Likened to a turbulence-free voyage at a comfortable cruising altitude, the e-learning course helps employees take ownership of cultivating a safe working environment where everyone is equipped and excited to do their best work.
